Dear Mr. and Mrs. Morgenstern,
I wanted to share some thoughts regarding
your high-energy, lively, stylish daughter and my roommate, Nancy.
Nancy was one of those people who
would get up at 6:30 A.M. to cycle and be reading The New
York Times by noon in Central
Park. She inspired me to greet
the morning sooner than I normally would have.
One thing I did not know about Nancy
was that she had a domestic side. One night she offered to sew
an outfit that I planned
to wear for the evening.
Her handiwork allowed me to wear the outfit that night.
What’s more, she often offered
to share her traditional Sunday night chicken meal from the Kosher
Marketplace. She was not only a talented athlete,
but also a giving roommate.
Nancy never failed to notice a hairstyle
change, which I greatly appreciated.
Her strong opinions kept the apartment
on its toes.
I miss her.
