September 12, 2006. At last night's memorial service at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, the attendees were asked to take one of almost 3000 candles, each marked with a name of someone lost on Sept. 11. I was honored to be able to light a candle identified with Nancy's name and thus to remember someone I hadn't known before, and to keep her memory treasured. Your website allowed me to know more about her, and her family and friends will be regularly in my thoughts now. As Lincoln concluded his Gettysburg speech, It is for us the living rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It may not intuitively seem that Nancy was a fighter on that day in the sense Lincoln intended at Gettysburg but I know she fought for her life against forces of utmost evil and that simply living her and our very existence then and now is the best fight we can do in the face of that evil.
